In addition to the events above, there are additional service opportunities that pop up throughout the year that your cadet may choose to participate in. Service opportunities are usually presented to the cadets through their chain of command and cadets sign up for those that interest them.
Service projects the TX 861st participates in include:
Westwood School Events: JROTC cadets provide guidance to visitors during several school events including parent nights.
Local Area School Events: JROTC cadets provide volunteers to the local elementary and middle schools for events like festivals, science nights, art nights and more.
Local Charity Events: JROTC cadets help out at the MSWalk, Halloween 'spooktackular', the MS150 Bike Race and more.
